Summary:
Type 2 Diabetes, Overweight and at Increased Cardiovascular Risk. Study will last approximately 2 years and may include up to 27 visits.
Criteria:Must have Type 2 Diabetes, be overweight and18 years or older
Be taking a consistent dose of 1 to 3 diabetes drugs by mouth for the last 3 months (Metformin being one of them)
Be at high risk of heart or blood vessel diseases, or have kidney disease
Have high blood sugar as measured by hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c at least 7)
Can not have Type 1 Diabetes, can not have used any weight loss drugs in the last 3 months. Can not be taking insulin in the last 3 months.
