If your current lupus medication does not work well for you, you may be looking for additional treatment options. One option to consider is the RISE study of an investigational lupus medication that is given in addition to your established treatment.
In this study, local doctors want to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the investigational medication and compare it to placebo, which looks like the investigational medication, but contains no active medication. The investigational medications is in the form of a solution, which is administered through an IV infusion (needle inserted into a vein in your arm) every four weeks during the treatment period of the study.
The results of this study will provide more information about the investigational medication and whether it can one day be available as a prescription medication for morderate to severe lupus.
