  • Research Site Introduction:

Core Clinical Research is a local, independently-owned, clinical research center specializing in conditions pertaining to the central nervous system. At Core Clinical Research we are proud to be psychiatrist owned and operated. Our dedicated research staff works together to provide high-quality comprehensive care. Our compassionate and understanding doctors and coordinators take pride in paying close attention to each patient's needs.

Core Clinical Research trials are carefully conducted research studies that involve people who seek a full understanding of their condition and a solution to their psychiatric needs. Individuals volunteer to participate in medical investigations that ultimately uncover better ways to treat, prevent, and understand psychiatric conditions. The clinical trials that we conduct examine how new treatments and therapies can be best utilized towards overall optimal health.

  • Research Site Description:

Being a local, independent business, we are able to provide more quality care and attention to our patients. Our suite is located in downtown Everett, in a vintage brick building on Colby Avenue. We offer refreshments and snacks in our waiting room, as well as in our multiple private interview rooms.

Our facility includes a full functioning lab. When you schedule your first appointment with us to determine eligibility for a clinical trial there will be some required assessments. The assessments that are required are determined by the research protocol for the specific clinical trial that you are interested in participating in. Some common tools used to determine study eligibility may include:

    • Blood/urine samples (sometimes fasting)
    • A test that records the electrical activity of your heart, known as an electrocardiogram (ECG)
    • Vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate & temperature)
    • Medical History Interview
    • Physical Examination
    • Psychiatric Evaluation
    • Other diagnostic tests and assessments, such as imaging

All of the study related information is private and not shared with anyone unless you sign a Release of Information Form with our clinic. All study records including lab results, medical findings and ECG results are available to you at your request upon completion of the study.

  • Patient Demographics:

Our clinical trials have very specific requirements for who can or cannot participate. These requirements are often called “inclusion criteria” and “exclusion criteria”. A person who qualifies for participation will have met all of the required terms for a particular trial. Patients are only enrolled into a study if they are appropriate. Areas of interest to investigators and clinicians include:

    • Age
    • Gender
    • Previous or current medications
    • Type and stage of a condition
    • Current/past symptoms
    • Previous and existing medical conditions
    • Prior participation in a clinical trial

  • Additional Information:

The services provided at our clinic are 100% free of charge to the patient.

All study related care and medications come at no cost to you or your loved one. In most cases compensation for travel is available.

Clinical trials are done for various reasons. Some trials are done to further demonstrate safety and efficacy for a drug; some are done as a measure to compare two treatments in the pursuit of identifying a more effective or tolerable one, while others are conducted to provide ongoing data on methods of improvement for the medications that we take.

Clinical trials are conducted under the intense scrutiny of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA sets forth rules and guidelines for clinical trials to make sure that the people who are participating are well informed on the risks and benefits of each trial.

If you or your loved one have any questions regarding participation in a trial, please contact us today. We are always available for pre-study consultations.
