Clinical Trial 44914

Chicago, IL 60611

Summary:

We are investigating the effects of a probiotic on blood sugar control in adults (men aged 21-69; women aged 45-69) with Pre-Diabetes or unmedicated Type 2 Diabetes. If you are unsure of your current blood sugar levels, we can provide a free blood test in our clinic to check for you.

The study requires 7 clinic visits over the course of 19 weeks.

The study requires Oral Glucose Tolerance Tests, Continuous Glucose Monitoring, two stool samples, various blood draws requiring fasting for 8-12 hours, and a few days of food and sleep diaries.

As part of the study requirements, you will be asked to take part in a procedure called an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test,. This is used to measure the changes in your blood sugar levels over a period of a few hours. It requires an IV to be placed in your arm to allow for multiple blood draws. The study also aims to explore trends in your blood sugar levels during the day and night over a 2-week period. In order to do this, you will be asked to wear a Continuous Glucose Monitoring Sensor twice over the duration of the study.
