Summary:
Migraine is one of the most common neurological conditions in pediatrics, occurring in 7.7% of children and adolescents under 20 years of age (Abu-Arafeh et al. 2010). Migraine attacks are characterized by intense pain and associated symptoms, resulting in substantial negative impacts on daily life. While migraine in the pediatric population is similar in nature to adult migraine, it can include: shorter attacks, different location of pain, and reduced ability to describe associated symptoms.
