| Study summary: |
|
We are conducting a clinical research study that is looking at whether an investigational medication is safe and effective in treating both moderate to severe low back pain and the constipation that commonly occurs in people taking opioid pain medications, such as morphine or codeine. |
| Qualified participants must: |
|
• Be 18 years of age or older
•
Be taking opioid pain medication (Vicodin, OxyContin, Percocet, Lortab, Oxycodone or other prescription pain medications) for low back pain
•
Be experiencing symptoms of constipation
•
Be willing to stop current laxatives
|
| Participants may receive: |
|
Blood and urine test, EKG, physical exam, investigational pain medication, and compensation for time & travel for each protocol specific completed visits. |
